Adventure 810: Day 33/tucson/2023

Rather chilly in the desert today, and though it did reach seventy in the afternoon, the biting wind, which whistled at a top speed of 33 mph, made it seem colder. Nonetheless life marched on. Judy and Liz did a short tour of the Gem Show while I went to Saturday Tai Chi. Judy successfully found a set of Carnelian beads that she'll have Leticia turn in to some sort of jewelry. Liz endured the adventure, but rows and rows of rocks isn't her thing. Since the day was so cold, we hibernated for most of the afternoon. Our big outing came in the evening and found us at the Rockabilly Grill to hear a second rendition from the Vinyl Grooves. We so enjoyed them last week, we thought we'd give them a second chance, and we supposed that the Rockabilly Grill would serve at least decent bar food. Disappointment reigned on both counts. First, the band had a different line up which meant they weren't as tight. Second, they must have forgotten their sound man because everything was a mishmash, not to mention the acoustics were poor. And sadly, the bar food was medium. The best thing about the place was the crowd, which mirrored our worst fears. I mean, "When did we get this old?" Happily, we made it home in time to watch the Zags survive a slugfest with the BYU Cougars. It was so nerve wracking, Judy had to leave the room. But not to worry, the Zags came through with toughness, poise, and some excellent foul shooting down the stretch. I don't know why, but winning helps make life good, especially today.

During our hibernation time, Liz went down for a rest. Judy worked on the sweater she's knitting for a student at the Navaho Reservation school.

Falc sent us a picture today with his dog, Cooper.

Here's a couple of lively babes bellying up to the bar.

The Rockabilly Grill was packed. I was very impressed with Michelle who worked the floor mostly by herself.
