We enjoyed this year's family camp at a new spot: McCray's, which is about a three mile walk from Coolin. The cabin layout worked perfectly, the weather was nearly perfect, everyone was able to come. We even enjoyed bonus as Sawyer's dad, Chad flew up from Portland and gave us airplane rides over the lake. We did the usual lake stuff. We ate. We planned what we were going to eat next while we ate. Everybody took a cooking day. We laughed every day. We splashed every day. We rattled the dominoes a few times. One day, we searched unsuccessfully for huckleberries. All in all it was the best week ever. I think in part because the cabin layout worked so well. The McCrays have a big family and it's clear they've designed their place with large groups in mind. So, as I like to say life is good, especially today.
Falcon spent about ten hours a day in the water. Here he is with his Auntie Tia.
And here he is on land with his cousin, Sarah.
Steve and Bonnie enjoyed the water, too.
The lake wan't cold enough, so this group went to do a polar plunge in Soldier Creek.
Emily and Crow enjoyed themselves as well.
Bonnie snapped a phot of the whole group.
Angela paddling into the sunset.
They may be smiling, but their huckleberry bags are skimpy.
Water fights!
More water fights.
I spent a few hours in the water myself.
Even Mimi got in this year.
Bonnie and Sarah.
Steve looks like he has it under control.
Mimi thinks she's enjoyed just about as much as she could stand.
Angela on the long walk back from the dock.
Libby spent her time sunbathing on the beach, another good way to go.
Falcon pushing us out of the crocodile weeds.
Sarah, serving me a hot cup of coffee.
The view from the beach.
The McCray cabin is the one in the middle with the red triangle.
There goes Chad with another of his passengers. He was nine for nine in returning his cargo safely.
Sawyer, perhaps realizing that life is good, especially today.
