Pecan Grove RV Park |
Oh, woe is me, I'm as deflated as a sad soufflé. Despite a valiant comeback, which saw me tie the wily cager 10-10 in the Potter's Creek Open, she wisely waited until Christmas morning to whip me into a sad frenzy. I feel as floppy as a retired chef's hat. Worse, my once commanding lead has diminished to no lead at all. Our overall series is now tied. Oh, well, that's the beauty of games; there's always another the next day. Our journey into Austin was uneventful. In fact, it was quite pleasant since we were part of the very few vehicles roaming the freeway on Christmas. We set up shop at the Pecan Grove, took a few pictures of Frac's cousin Airstreams, and picked up Leticia and Libby right on time. It is true that there are other brands of trailers, but they're all just SOBs (Some other brand). Most of these cousins live here permanently; Frac is just passing through. We're BBQing Williams' style tonight (Texas Ribeye Steaks, brussel sprouts fried in bacon with pecans, garlic mashed potatoes, and salad. Then we're off to listen to Dale Watson and his Lone Stars at the Continental Club. The next few days promise to be a whirling dervish of activities as we will explore much of what Austin has to offer. Stay tuned. Merry Christmas and of course, remember that life is good, especially today.
