Adventure 380: Phoenix, AZ/Covered Wagon RV Park/Post B

Cousins Russ and Kathy treated us "Royally" today.
The meadowlarks are tweeting, the sunflowers are spitting, and the Rock Chalks are chomping at the bit. Clearly, the sons and daughters of Kansas are on a roll. The Royals beat the Angels 8-4 today in a lively spring training game; the K-State Wildcats handled the Demon Deacons to advance to the round of 64 in the NCAA tourney, and the Jayhawks are sitting on their perch awaiting the winner of NCCENT/UCD. Oh my, let the madness begin. We got a good start today after spending a very nice time with our gracious cousins, Russ and Kathy. We enjoyed the baseball game, a nice dinner out, and we got to cheer K-State just because they're family. We also got Fric's oil changed, which always makes his engine purr. When we get home we'll have to take care of normal mileage business. By then, we'll have over 120,000 miles on the truck, and this round of adventures should clock in somewhere over 6,000. Meanwhile, it's March Madness, and we have the disease. We'll go over to Russ and Kathy's to cheer on the Zags, and most likely watch another game or two. In the meantime, we're meeting tomorrow with Michael, next year's landlord. We get to check out the place we've rented somewhere around noon. Hopefully, our expectations match something close to reality. Time will tell, but right now all we can say is that life is good, especially today.
We even had time to sneak over to our favorite hole in the wall Mexican Restaurant for their very excellent Mole Burrito.
Take me out to the ball game. Here the Royals are warming up before the game.
Big crowd today. No wonder. Perfect weather, good teams, cold beverages, and avid fans.
The Angels brain trust, Manager Mike Scioscia on the far right, can be seen here deciding the fate of their players.
Maybe this Royals player nicknamed "MOoooose" gave the Angels some pause.
Nothing better than sitting behind home plate in the shade watching Major Leaguers.
Russ can be seen giving the Angels' manager a couple of suggestions.

Russ said he ate more than one sack lunch sitting in this chair back on the farm in Kansas.
Uncle Rod--tonight we cheered for the Wildcats, but I'm sure you know where the Isaac family heart beats.
