Adventure 706: Sentinel Peak RV/Post C

Got back to the trailer way too late to write a blog last night. We went for dinner at our friends, the Kral's, and  later enjoyed Gonzaga's tough victory over St. Marys. Yesterday we rode out and back on the loop trail a total just under thirty miles. We have an easy access point just three blocks from the RV park. Tuscon's bike riding loop provides enough paved surface for any avid cyclist to get a good workout. When we camp at Catalina State Park, the part of the trail we ride is a spur off the main loop. We're right on the main loop now, which is a 56 mile round trip. Next year, when we're down here for the winter, I'll ride the loop in one sitting. Right now, my riding partner is content with a couple hours of riding rather than four. It's all good. Today, we'll walk a few miles in keeping with our pattern of ride, walk, ride, walk. This afternoon, like most of America, we'll cheer on our favorite team (We don't have one) during the Super Bowl. Actually, my favorite part of the game is the commercials, which are usually entertaining. They should be. A thirty second spot costs the advertiser around $7,000,000. My sense is something is wrong with that picture, but then so much is out of focus these days, it's hard to tell the true from the fabricated. Fortunately we're in a space where none of that matters. What matters is that life is good, especially today.

Welcome to the loop. There are fast riders, slow riders, walkers, runners, joggers, and a few dogs on leashes. All share the road.
Left heads out to Marana. Right continues to the main loop.
The Catalina Mountains in the distance.
No real elevation gain on the trail, and except for an occasional asphalt crack, the surface is excellent.
It appears that the community is dedicated to expanding the loop. Several sections sport freshly laid pavement.
All along the way there is art. These are "Bat cycles".
Great fun for bikers.
