Adventure 704: Sentinel Peak RV/Post A

Woke up to a cobalt sky. Hiked 6.2 miles in 2.5 hours, which surprised us because we thought we were walking at a 2 miles and hour pace. Maybe it was the fresh air, or maybe it's the 130 desert miles we've hiked since January 10th when we got here. Who knows? It was a lovely morning. We arrived at our urban setting just about 1 P.M. It's pretty stark, but the advantage is it's close to downtown. We found the trolley station, which is free to ride until June. Tomorrow we plan to ride the entire loop with our friends the Kral's. Sometime in the next few days, we'll walk the University of Arizona campus, stroll through the business district, and of course the old neighborhood casitas. In addition, the bicycle loop trail is a block and a half away. We'll do more riding than walking while we're in this spot. Even at that, my phone says I've walked 27,999 steps today for a total of 12.1 miles. And get this, Judy didn't pull the "75" card once today. What a trooper. Basically, life continues to be good, especially today.

Good bye Catalina Campground. Hope to visit you again, sometime.
Hooray for little cacti.
Our new urban camp site.
One last hike on the Fifty Year Trail.
Morning selfie.
Maybe us humans could learn a lesson of cooperation from these nursery plant groups which help each other survive in the desert.
We'll get on the trolley here tomorrow.
