Adventure 702: Catalina State Park Revisited/Post J

We got back in the work out saddle today. We rode thirty miles on the trail, and both of us were amazed at how good we felt. Maybe there's something to the idea of a rest day. After lunch we decided to take  a small hike of three miles around the birding loop. In all, it was a fine day at the park. We've now revisited every trail in the park, which is nice because we'll be heading for some inner city camping later this week. On another high note, I've managed to wrestled the lead away from the Cager. I'm up $.36 at the not quite half way mark. There's a lot of game left in the month, so I remain as cautious as cactus wren, especially given the vagaries of luck and fortune. Speaking of good fortune, we're headed into a high pressure heat wave. They're predicting temperatures in the high seventies by the end of the week. The sun warms our spirits and makes us thankful that life is good, especially today.

I saw this rare specimen hiding in the bushes along the birding trail: She's a blue shirted Jayhawk.
Post work out peace shot: Cerveza and pistachios on the veranda.
This prickly pear is as big as a tree.

Blue sky, nothing but blue sky, and a wing moon besides.
This magnificent guy is one of the venerable elders.
Beep! Beep!

We treated ourselves after our ride. In and out is what it's all about.
