Adventure 624: Sweet Hollow Farm/Post B

We enjoyed a nice full day in this part of the Teton Valley. After a leisurely breakfast and our regular game of crib (The Cager won), we donned our bike clothes for a ride to Driggs and back along a very pleasant paved rail trail. Our surprise of the day was the farmers market in Driggs, where we bought cheese, tamales, apples, radicchio, corn, and a breakfast burrito (Our second breakfast). We hobnobbed with the locals. Everyone wore masks and the atmosphere helped us feel as laid back as the locals. One local, a former Satellite, chatted us up about our bike. She and her husband are avid tandem riders. She pointed us in the direction of a nice route we'll ride tomorrow. I redeemed myself in cribbage at lunch, making tonight's game the rubber match for the day. After lunch, we did the form, practiced with the sticks, and wandered through the cemetery. It looks like the valley was settled in the 1850s. Lots of record of a family called Moulton. The smokey skies we left in Washington haven't yet made it here, but there is a sign that the weather will change soon. There is a 50/50 chance of rain tomorrow, and the wind has blown steadily all day. Nonetheless, it's still very warm even in to the early evening (It's 5 PM now). No-one showed up to work at the farm today; it seems the end of the season is at hand, so we had the run of the place, which really meant we filled our water bottles from the spring, said hello to the pigs who frolicked in a way unaware of their certain fate. We'll enjoy a couple of tamales for dinner along with the ears of fresh corn, and once again enjoy a life that is good, especially today.

We bought two hunks  of cheeses from from a very pleasant young couple.

Victor was the end of the rail line in the old days. I'm not sure what the historic train station is now, but it's certainly not a museum. This angle was the only one free of assorted boats, trailers, car hulks, and other debris.

I think the guy on the left is a Democrat.

The old and the new.
We toasted my late friend, Dave Ulmen, last evening at this brewery.

Art shot of the day: tracks to nowhere.

Typical portion of the rail trail.

Lots of contented folks meandering around the market.
Falcon photo of the day: Ecstatic about his new train set.
Selfie of the day: Getting better looking every day.
