Adventure 623: Sweet Hollow Farm, Victor, Idaho

Life just keeps getting better. We enjoyed traveling mercies from Challis to Victor, each mile easing the smoke in the air. We arrived about three to the welcome smile of our host, Jonah and his dog Murphy. Jonah, a first season organic farmer, says he fell into this sweet deal because the land owner who developing the property just West wants the community to have a local farm. Jonah said much of this year was trial and error, but he seems satisfied enough to beam with pride as he gave us the nickel tour. We even got to meet Hallie and Zooey, two full grown pigs who this very next week will be the main course in the farm's first annual pig roast. We found this place because our daughter Angela turned us on to the Hipcamp website. We had planned on boon docking near Jackson Hole, but the RVs are thicker than flies on the tump of an elk. Jonah said he just opened the site two days ago and already has eight paid listings in the next two weeks, which is amazing since we're parked in a tall grass field next to an old  30' Airstream (Project) Landcruiser. There is no water, no sewer, and the 20 amp power is four or five extension cords strung from the main greenhouse. Nevertheless, we're thrilled. There is a paved bike trail that runs from here to Driggs, a total of fifteen miles round trip. In addition, there are assorted side roads to explore, so it's exactly what we wanted. All in all, life is good, especially today.

Hallie and Zooey, plump, cheerful, and always ready for a snack. Little do they realize.

Our host, Jonah, pointing out some of his crop.

Falcon photo of the day: Hard to believe this little guy is now 17 lbs. 30" long, crawling with ease, and on the verge of taking his first step.
