Adventure 460: Emigrant Lake/OSF Day Two/Post C

Birthday Boy.
We awoke to another bright blue day. Judy scrambled out of the rack at her normal 0-four thirty, but since we got home from the theater near midnight, she came back to bed for a morning snuggle. We hugged in the memories of another fine day filled once again with good times, good friends, good enlightenments, good food, and just good fuel for heart and soul. My buddy, Dave Ulmen has a birthday tomorrow, but since Judy and I are heading home very early (We have to get ready for Little Eden), we decided to have birthday night at a local winery called Belle Fiore, which is situated on several lovely acres overlooking Ashland. The owners must be flush because everything about the place is elegant, well-appointed, and welcoming. The wine is very good as well. Our dinner was excellent, and a good time was had by all. Perhaps the best part of the day was the play we attended in the afternoon session. It was called Destiny of Desire. The entire cast consisted of humans of Hispanic origin. The play touched on most of the social issues facing people of color, and since it was penned by a woman, it concentrated mostly on the life struggles of Hispanic women, although it went well beyond just Hispanic women or poor women into the heart of what it means to be a woman striving go control her own fate. The pace was lively, set in the mode of a Tele-Novella. Sprinkled in several times during the wild action were factoids prescient to today's world,  (The sad, sad world of chump). One fact expressed is that one person is found dead in the desert between the U.S. and Mexico every day (And that number is probably low). Another that stood out is that while Mexico is the largest Spanish speaking nation in the world, the United States is the second. The cast unapologetically shouted at the beginning of the performance, "We're here to change the social order, Deal With It!" In my mind, it's high time we started accepting each other as humans. Be aware.. Vote. And if you're part of the choir, sing Louder! In the evening we saw Shakespeare's Love's labor Lost. it may have been the fine dinner, the fine wine, or the fact that I couldn't appreciate many of the puns and funs Shakespeare had in mind, but the evening play didn't move me emotionally as the first three performance we've seen did. Today, our final day, we cap our Ashland visit off with two classic tragedies, Othello and Romeo and Juliet. At least going in, I know that everyone dies, human weakness causes distresses, and things could have turned out differently if inly people would have been honest up front. Sounds much like the solution to the problems of our time. But no, we remain conceited, duplicitous, fearful, protective, and concerned mostly for what is ours, rightfully or not. All I know that if I was the director, I'd change the ending and make life good for all, every today.

Liz and Judy grinning like contented kittens.
We just happen to fit right in with an Airstream rally. There are more than a dozen Airstreams parked in the campground. They say they meet every year and caravan as a group.
My Bunny adding more beauty to the splendid grounds at the Belle Fiore winery.
The foyer of the main building.
 Dinner for eight.
A toast to the good life.
This gentlemen provided exquisite Segovia like tunes.
We shared some small plates to start, including these scrumptious fries.
I enjoyed a slice of fresh Alaskan halibut.

Cake, and we ate it, too!
Blow, Dave blow, and many more.
As I was about to do the form in the morning, these two wandered by. All God's creatures enjoy the life.
